A Bright Booth

From Near.

An abandoned ticket box on a big market square, now occupied by multiple little wagons, some still decorated with small Christmas lights. Trucks encircle the circus arena. The big tent is covered by shadows of the night, almost completely, so one is left to guess the whiteness with which it boasts itself throughout the day. A few meters apart from the ornate iron gate, made to enter young and old alike, that brightly lit hut evokes memories of the past, being a child and walking into one of those tents, excited to watch one of those shows which promise evenings full of  ‘ahhhs’ and ‘ohhhhs’.

Growing up the whole scene tends to lose some of its appeal, especially, when starting to question the well-being of the biggest stars of the circus ring, animals which cannot chose. Exoticism that is what has attracted circus audience ever since. Acrobats, clowns and jongleurs accompanied by live music and small fireworks. Circus romance is taken up by various artists again and again, the atmosphere between fun and grotesque is special.
